Each week I was responsible for designing one or two ads that would be displayed in the weekend editions of our local papers. This taught me a great deal about how to work on a short timeline, and getting all information required for the ad as soon as possible.
Goals varied depending on the company. For Inde, I wanted to create ads displaying the current trends in kitchen and bath, all while making sure the Inde brand was strong and recognizable. Designs for Morrell Builders were a bit more nuanced. We were targeting a very specific market, and we needed to make sure each ad had the four “P”s. Product, Place, Price, Promotion. Morrell’s strength is the design in floor plans, and showing that to potential customers was top priority.
These ads are a sampling of my favorite copy, favorite designs, and favorite examples of typography.
